New Recruits!

These are our two newest recruits, bought at the Goffs Autumn Yearling Sale last week in Ireland. They are by two first season sires in US Navy Flag (Left) and Havana Grey (Right). They are both nice looking filly’s and the US Navy Flag filly is still FOR SALE. To see more information click here.

The Havana Grey filly is a half-sister to two Group performers and looks uncannily like our very own Golden Duke!

Clock Tower Cup!

This weekend Doncaster Racecourse is staging the Clock Tower Cup.

We are excited to announce that our very own Lara Barstow will be riding in the race this year. She will be riding stable stalwart, Firmdecisions, who Lara has looked after for the past two years. The trip is 7 furlongs; a distance that ‘Firm’ has won over 9 times.

The race is run in aid of Racing Welfare, who do a great job in looking after our staff. They are a great cause and we would be lost without them. Any donations below would be greatly appreciated,

We wish Lara and Firmdecions the best of luck and most importantly, a safe return!

Good runs at Redcar.

We had two runners at Redcar yesterday. Prodigious Blue ran into a progressive type in the first of the Novice races. He was more settled than previous in the preliminaries and was straight as an arrow throughout the race in first time cheek-pieces, so we were very happy with him.

Bakr made her stable debut in the Novice later on the card. She hasn’t been the easiest at home so it was great to see her show a willing attitude and run a great race for the team, who have put in all the hard work at home. We are delighted for owner, Mr A Chapman, who looks to have another nice horse on his hands!

Double Trouble!

What a day! Our day started with Roundhay Park running rings around his rivals on the Roudee at Chester. On only his 3rd run over 7 furlongs, Faye Mcmanoman settled ‘Roundhay’ in midfield and took full advantage of the cutaway to sprint clear up the inside rail and win by a neck.

Our last runner of the day was Singe Anglais at Ripon, where he was a monkey no more! Putting his trademark racing style in practice Singe Anglais, or Peter Pan as we call him at home, was detached early on, and looked the least likely victor in the field. Despite this he came from last to first to register his 4th win under Alex Jary, who was only riding the 5th winner of his career!

A big well done must go to all connections and the team at home! #winner41

Macmillan Ride of Their Lives

We are incredibly proud of 69-year-old, Mark Tronco, who represented us in the Macmillan ‘Ride of Their Lives’ Charity Race at York today. Mark has worked tirelessly getting to know his trusty stead, Jupiter Road, over the past few months and all their hard work paid off!

Mark settled ‘Jupiter’ at the back of the field and successfully navigated his way around the Knavesmire to the roar of the crowd! We are just glad he made it back in one piece!

Another Investment proves his worth

Another Investment got off the mark at the 3rd attempt today at York. Dropping back in trip to six furlongs, Another Investment was given a patient ride by Jack Mitchell and kept on the whole way through the line. Congratulations must go to owners J Glover, R O’ Donnell, J Short and N Skinner.

Another Investment is our 3rd winner by Awtaad this season!

High Security wins his first race

High Security put a smile on his owners face’s by winning the lucky last at Redcar! This son of Acclamation got off the mark at the 18th attempt, making all under a great front-running ride from Rowan Scott. A big well done must also go to Jess, who was leading up her first winner!

Piastrella wipes the floor with her rivals

Piastrella wiped the floor with her rivals at Beverley to notch a second career victory for owner/ breeders, Ceramic Tile Merchants Ltd. This game daughter of second-season sire, Awtaad, overcame both a penalty and a wide draw to run out a convincing winner of this Beverley novice. We are absolutely delighted with this filly and hope she continues to improve.

As If By Chance wins at Redcar

As If By Chance won at Redcar today, at the 11th time of asking. Under an enterprising front-running ride from Faye Mcmanoman, ‘Chance’ refused to let a rival past and won by half a length. It was a welcome winner for patient owners Ms Sara Hattersley and Miss Tracey Mann, as ‘Chance’ has come close on many an occasion this season. Well done to our hard-working team at home!

Coley's Koko wins at Catterick

It was great to see Coley’s Koko get her head in front for the third time this year! Ridden by Rowan again, she was held up early in the race, and picked up extremely well to win with her ears pricked! It was a second winner in just two weeks for owner, John Saville.

Maybe Even Never: Dead Heat!

Maybe Even Never had the second run of his career yesterday, after winning on debut. The gelded son of Dream Ahead was at Ripon this time, and carrying a 7lb penalty for his previous success.

He was ridden again by Phil Dennis, and travelled very well throughout the race (despite being slow out of the stalls), and it came down to two horses nearing the finish who were neck and neck. After a very tight finish, the judges called a dead heat with Maybe Even Never and Sunday Justice being 5 lengths clear of the rest of the field!

4 winners on Saturday!

It was an incredible day for the team yesterday, with 4 winners across 2 cards!

First up came Piastrella, who was running for only the second time. In what looked like a competitive race for 2 year old fillies, the Awtaad filly was given a patient ride by Faye and powered up the Beverley hill strongly to win nicely in the end.

Up next was Trust Bertie at Redcar. It was the 2 year old’s first trip to a racecourse, but he took it all in his stride and ran a very professional race under a lovely ride from Rowan.

It Just Takes Time was a bit of a handful before his race at Redcar, but showed his class by staying on strongly to win the Market Cross Jewellers Handicap. Well done to jockey Andrew Mullen.

Our last runner of the day, She’s A Deva, was kept handy throughout by Rowan, and stayed on gamely to break her maiden tag - which was well deserved, she’s been knocking on the door all season!

Congratulations to all connections!

A couple of old friends.....

Etienne Gerard and Normandie Barriere (Norman) were bought in France together, and were best friends from then on. They went into training together, and cantered and galloped every morning together.

They are both happily retired now, Etienne Gerard with Amy (Kim and Nigel’s daughter), and Norman is with Helen (who has worked with us for over 20 years!). It was lovely to see them catch up last weekend at a show at The National Horseracing College in Doncaster - and even lovelier to see that they still recognise each other!!

2 winners!

An across the card double for Team Tinkler yesterday, at Catterick & Wolverhampton.

First up was Woodlands Charm, who made it 2 wins from 2 runs by winning cosily at Catterick. Charm was given a positive, confident ride by Faye and seems to be improving every time she runs - let’s hope it continues! (Well done to Faye too, who won ‘ride of the meeting’ for this ride!)

To top off a good day for the team, Whatwouldyouknow won comfortably ay Wolverhampton under a strong ride from Silverstre De Sousa. The Lope de Vega gelding was slow to leave the stalls, but soon made his way through the field to win comfortably by 3.5 lengths!

Strangerontheshore, Golden Duke & Night On Earth

We had a three winners last week….

Firstly, Strangerontheshore made it two out of two with another lovey win at Carlisle. Ridden confidently by Faye, she travelled well throughout the race and did just enough to put the race to bed. Congratulations to owner/breeder Pam Cockerill!

Next up, Golden Duke broke his maiden tag by winning at Kempton. Again, Faye was in the saddle and the gelded son of Galileo Gold looked confident throughout.

Finally, we were delighted to see Night On Earth win for the first time for us at Chester. This time Rowan took the ride, and the journey to Chester was well worth the trip!
