Maybe Even Never

Maybe Even Never made an impressive debut at Thirsk last night. The gelded son of Dream Ahead was always in contention, travelling well throughout the race, and won under a lovely, confident ride from Phil Dennis.

Woodlands Charm

It was lovely to see Woodlands Charm finally get the hang of things, and show her potential at Ripon last night. The 2 year old daughter of Kodiac has been very green (and a little bit naughty!) in all of her previous runs, but she put that behind her last night and, ridden by Rowan, she travelled well to win quite comfortably in the end. Well done to owners Woodlands Racing and Middleham Park Racing - it was great that so many of them could be there for her win!

It Just Takes Time wins at Leicester!

It’s always lovey to see that famous Faye Mcmanoman smile, and she was certainly smiling as she returned to the winners enclosure with It Just Takes Time yesterday, who was winning for the first time this season.

The 3 year old gelding by Power, was held up in the rear and gradually made headway towards the closing stages of the race. He finished well inside the final furlong, and led towards to finish to win well in the end, by over a length.

Strangerontheshore

It was lovely to see Strangerontheshore lose her maiden tag at Carlisle on Monday evening. It was the always popular ladies night - which also means female jockeys only, which meant that Faye took the ride. The Cable Bay filly was dropped out early in the race by Faye, and steadily made her way through the field, finishing strongly to win by half a length. Congratulations to owner and breeder, Pam Cockerill!

Isla Kai wins again!

Isla Kai won the feature race at Doncaster yesterday, making that two wins this year for the 3 year old gelding by Awtaad.

Ridden by Rowan, he made all and raced alone down the rail whilst the rest of the field chose to race down the middle of the track. Congratulations to owners, Martin Webb Racing!

Violette Szabo

On a beautiful sunny day at Beverley, it was lovely to see Violette Szabo get her head in front. Ridden by an in-form Faye, she found a little trouble in running, but won cosily in the end.

It was a particularly poignant win, as the horse is named after World War II veteran, Violette Szabo, who would have been 100 years old this week!

Double at Redcar!

We had a great day at Redcar yesterday, not only did Faye ride her first Redcar winner, she then quickly made it a double for our team!

First up, was Imperium Blue. Given a patient ride by Faye, he took on the lead around a furlong out, and stayed on well.

Truth in Jest

Truth in Jest

Second, came Truth In Jest who went off favourite after his win at Thirsk earlier this month. He was always in contention, and was pushed out to lead towards the finish.

In Faye’s words after the race: "It's what dreams are made of – you couldn’t write it. I’m very grateful to Nigel for putting me up on these good horses – I’m very lucky.”

Musselburgh winner!

It was great to be back in Scotland for the first time in 2021, and great to have a winner with Coleys Koko! Ridden by Rowan, Coleys Koko travelled well throughout the race, and finished strongly to win by 1 and 1/4 lengths.
