A very busy day at Doncaster for James, a member of the team at Woodland Stables, who led up a horse earlier in the torrential rain, then rode Jupiter Road in the last race. At which point it was still pouring down!
A very very wet day at Doncaster today as two of our yearlings made their debut and learned a lot from the experience.
The education of the yearlings is in full swing now, and the majority of the yards older horses are beginning their winter holidays.
Here is our Havana Gold Colt who is doing everything asked of him, and has quickly progressed to having a jockey on his back.
He is still available to purchase, full details can be found on our horses for sale page.

Back in action tomorrow, racing at Pontefract where 2 of our stable favourites Roundhay Park and Sheepscar Lad face each other in the last.
Plenty of entries this week as the turf season enters its last few weeks.
Roundhay Park
Sheepscar Lad
The education is progressing nicely with 2 of our yearling being driven through the nearby village of Langton.
Our recently purchased yearlings are doing well in their education, and have quickly progressed to being comfortable wearing a saddle.
Pictured here are our Havana Gold x Florett Colt (top) and Buratino x Diminish Colt (bottom).
They are both available for sale, full details on the horses for sale page.
A beautiful sky at the stable this morning, captured by Helen.
Havana Gold and Buratino Colts are both adapting well to the training regime and are enjoying life as a racehorse. Seen here on their best behaviour in the lunging arena.
Both still available to own.
Already Looks Like A Good Buy
The 2yo half sister to our Buratino yearling, Ha'penny Bridge, is already a winner. She was then a keeping on well close up 4th in a valuable 7f listed race at Leopardstown on Irish Champions Day last weekend. Looks a very good prospect going forward to her 3yo career.
This handsome chestnut, for sale, already looking well bought by Nigel and Jamie Piggott for £20000. Visit our for sale page to get involved!
Some great artistic talent on view from groom Belinda Johnson on the hind quarters as Athollblair Boy and Izzy go to post at Doncaster.
All but one of the horses in the race enjoyed a view of it as he ran his usual great race to finish second by a fast diminishing head!
38
Singe Anglais wins for the 3rd time this year today, this time at Carlisle under a great ride from Faye, taking us to 38 winners for the flat season.
Bashiba's Perfect Ten
Stable favourite Bashiba was back in the winners enclosure today, gaining his 10th career win under Rowan at Musselburgh.
That is 37 stable winners for the year so far, equalling our previous best number of flat winners trained in a season. Having raced for us in the past 7 consecutive seasons, there was no more fitting horse to do this than Bashiba.
A stressful time for the trainer as the stable staff prepare for an evening racing, swapping horses for Go Karts flying around the track!
Thankfully, there were no casualties, and the stable horses will be mucked out and ridden out as usual in the morning.
And only fair to point out that Rowan was the winner.
Izzy and Athollblar Boy reminiscing over their victory together at Doncaster, hopefully planning the next one!
It is busy time at the stable this week, with plenty of activity at the sales looking to buy next years winners.
This new arrival, a chestnut colt by Mayson, is taking a peak around the stable door to greet some of his new stablemates arriving.
Or maybe he is just looking for his new owner?
It could be you!
His half sister Near Kettering has won twice in the last month, August 2019.

Sheepscar Lad (4) and Bashiba (14) setting off up the hill in the Beverley Sunshine.
Patience Is A Virtue
The patience of owner David Aarons was rewarded when Flying Raconteur gained his first career win at Ripon this afternoon under Lewis Edmunds.
The now 5 year old gelding who never raced as a 2 year old, ran 3 times as a 3 year old, and missed his entire 4 year old campaign, was produced with a late run to stay on well and win by a length.
Northern Lyte wins again today at Beverley, well ridden by Faye.
She clearly enjoys the Beverley track and has been placed there on a few occasions this season, so winning there for the second time was well deserved.
That takes the season tally for the stable to 35.
